A landmark in time. The Peden Iron & Steel Building is an early mercantile style warehouse building, designed at the turn of the last century by a leading architect of the day, Atlee B. Ayres. Ayres designed grand homes for prominent San Antonio families, many of which are lovingly preserved and admired today for their graceful lines and character. Ayres and his son later established an architecture office that produced many local business landmarks as well, including the Tower Life Building.
